About Us
Mission Statement
Poquita Paws Rescue has a mission to rescue small dogs from the community and high kill facilities and to encourage responsible pet ownership.
Our Story
In 2005, we started volunteering with several rescue organizations in the San Antonio area. It became obvious to us, that there is a need to rescue dogs that are being surrendered by their owners and dogs found running the streets. We wanted to get the dogs off the streets before they were taken to Animal Care Services. We also saw a need to assist people in finding resources to place dogs that cannot be taken into peoples homes. Occasionally we visit the high kill shelters, but our primary focus is the small dogs on the streets and those being surrendered by owners. So in May of 2012 we we decided to form our own rescue group.
Poquita Paws Rescue is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. All donations are tax deductible.
All dogs are seen by appointment only.
